Perform, Delegate, or Automate.
Making improvements to your small business is an ongoing process. Too often we see small business owners overwhelmed with the many different jobs and tasks that come with running a business.
When you are faced each day with a list of minor and major tasks to complete, it’s hard to find enough time in the day to get through it all.
Review Your Daily Activities
Don’t let the terrifying lists discourage your growth. What you need to do is step back and analyze your day to day activities and build a growth strategy. Start separating your daily tasks into these three categories.
No matter how you’re fixed in terms of available time and money, there are basically three things you can do with a task: do it, delegate it, or automate it.
I couldn’t agree more with the statement above. The first step is to create some clarity towards what items you can do yourself and those you can delegate to others. Don’t undermine your value.
Delegate small errands and tasks, such as running to get office supplies, to someone else so you can focus on your number one job, which is getting and keeping customers.
Automate Regular Tasks
Another very important thing to consider is automation. Sure you may be competent enough to do your accounting manually or manage your payroll, but consider the hours of time you waste on an area of your business that is not your expertise.
With advancements in technology there are a lot of great and affordable solutions to meet the needs of any business. It’s worth the time and money to do the switch.
There are small business tools and resources out there that can help you find the right technology for your business. Trust me when I say, automating regular tasks will really free up your time.
