Managing through the crisis

1. Don’t overreact or underreact.
During times of crisis and uncertainty, it can be really tough to turn off your natural
fight-or-flight response. Take five minutes to clear your head and then focus only on
the things you can control.
2. Focus on truth, facts and data.
Anchor your decisions on facts—not drama, what-ifs, speculations and distracting
emotions like fear.
3. Put a plan on paper.
A step by step plan organizes your top priorities so you can make the best decisions
with the information you have right now. The different steps allow you to pivot as
necessary so you can keep moving forward.
4. Communicate the plan to your team.
A plan can create incredible alignment and momentum with your team—but only if
you’re communicating that plan clearly and often!
